America Part III | Catalina Island

I was approaching the end of my time in America.

I remember thinking how crazy it was that the time had gone so fast…I mean literally, where did it go. It was still uber hot in LA, so we decided to jump ship (more like ferry to be exact) and head for a little place known as Catalina Island.

Honestly, I had no idea what to expect, other than the fact that I was promised a cool breeze (which was welcomed with open arms) and a beach.

However when we arrived there was so much more on offer. The Island was a little hive of activity, full of hub-bub and goings on, especially as it was around lunch time. Having skipped breakfast in order to get there, we considered it brunch time and promptly made our way to a recommended food source.
After having a rather large “brunch”, there were two main excursions on the days agenda. First up, a golf buggy followed shortly after by a semi-submersible. Take a look at the video below to find out more.
I cannot recommend a trip to this island enough! Especially if you are visiting LA in the summer, it provides welcome breezes and mini adventures. We got the ferry from Long Beach but there are various hoppers that make the 45min trip over to the Island. Apparently there was also a zip-wire activity available, but being a complete scaredy cat when it comes to heights I politely passed on that opportunity.

Such a fantastic day out though! One of the highlights of the trip!
