What I wear to the gym!

Its that time of year where we set our goals and invariably undertake some form of exercise.

Having in your possession the right kit for you will make this process a hell of a lot more bearable, dare I say it, even enjoyable!

In the very early days of my gym experience I used to go to the poshest gym in the most grubby attire. I’m talking a white t-shirt with stains on it and old leggings with holes in them.

It wasn’t until one day my mum turned to me and said “enough’s enough darling” and promptly took me shopping. I came away with a matching gym kit and looked, according to my mother, neat. The difference however that it made to the whole experience of going to the gym was fantastic. It’s like I had a spring in my step and didn’t have to keep my head down anymore. I have never looked back and now don’t mind spending a bit on gym appropriate clothing to make the whole expedience more enjoyable.

Now, I do go to Sports Direct from time to time and they are, on the whole, reliable. However, since discovering that H&M do active/sports wear, I have been a convert.

Here is my gym wardrobe. A quick disclaimer, I’m not being sponsored for this post or anything, I am, as with all my blog posts so far, just a massive fan sharing her enthusiasm.

This top is so well made. It is completely sculpted around the female frame, has a longer bit to cover your bum at the back and sits nicely at the front. I think it is super flattering and stays nicely loose and dry throughout my workouts.
I think that H&M sportswear is fairly priced, neat, comfortable and durable. They have a range of options for all types of activities.

My second gym top option, the fabric is loose and dries really quickly to avoid walking around with those embarrassing sweat marks.
I have two sports bras. I grabbed both of these from the selection they have in Sports Direct. I love that the straps feed between your shoulder blades to not interfere with movement.
These are the slinkiest, smoothest, nicest workout leggings I have EVER used! I love the thick band at the top as it sits over my problem area and keeps everything in place. Kinda wish I could wear them all the time!

Sports Hoodie – So comfy – Enough said.

Cuffed ends of the hoodie, comfortable for thumb.
I always take a set of headphones with me. These are from the WESC store (its the yellow store found on Carnaby street in London). I now only use over ear headphones during my workouts as they stay in place far more successfully. I also wear a phone holder on my arm, so as to not worry about leaving it or sending it flying or worrying about where to put it whilst I run. Such a handy combo.

A good gym kit can help get your bottom motivated, at least it helps mine anyway.

Whatever gets you going, do it! Anyone else an H&M sportswear fan? Or any other lines you’d like to recommend?
