I feel like I’m well overdue an ‘intermission post’. You know, one of those update posts that pensively addresses the current state of things. So here we go…
I’ve had a lot of time on my hands recently, to think, to breathe, to recover. Recover is probably the main thing. At the end of January, I underwent major surgery. I had been waiting nine months for this procedure, with my life basically on hold until that point. Now its happened, learning to live my life around recovery and with new possibilities is both exciting and scary at the same time. I am totally in the unknown and finding out new things, both good and bad each day.
With this in mind, I’ve taken this opportunity to make myself a few goals for February…
Organise and regroup.
I’m talking diary, lists, brainstorming (or mind mapping – whatever they be calling it these days). Basically just laying out on paper where I want to be in a few months and being clear with myself what I want to achieve.
Get the ‘work‘ work out of the way.
You know all those silly little jobs that build up from work? E-mails to answer, projects to tidy up and finish. I just want those out of the way so I can concentrate on what I want to do for the next few months.
Health and overall fitness.
Once I hit six weeks post-op I can officially get my butt back in the gym. I start Physio this month, and getting my overall strength back is top of my priority list. There will be resistance bands and squats gallore!
Plan a trip.
I don’t know where I don’t know when, but I’ve heard exciting things about trains to Amsterdam and I have had a craving for Paris. Europe, I have my eye on you.
Whether its a language or how to improve my blog post pictures, I would like to learn something this month. It might even have the potential to carry over and be a 2018 goal. I’ve recently signed up to Skillshare, which is an amazing source with a variety of tutorials on pretty much any topic you can think of! It’s already been super insightful from a blogging point of view and I believe you can get 2 free months of Premium Membership by signing up through this link!
I love these types of posts, both reading and writing them. I think it comes from being slightly on the nosy side. Let me know in the comments what goals and plans you’ve been making this February!
